A café in Morocco: the till and ordering at the table, on the same menu
Taking cash or card, printing tickets, letting tables order from their phones and following the kitchen on a screen: a café's till and ordering at the table, on one menu.
In a café, everything moves fast: a table that orders a mint tea, then another, guests at the counter, a bill shared between friends. The till and ordering at the table can share the same menu: a price changed or a dish sold out counts at once for the table, the till and the kitchen. Here is how it works, from the order to the ticket.
The till, on a tablet or a phone
- An order in a few taps: the categories and dishes of your menu, with their sizes and extras, for a table or for the counter.
- Cash or card: in cash, the till shows the change to give back, and the ticket prints it.
- The bill shared by items between several people, and paid in several parts.
- An order that follows the service: a dish added to an open order, a table moved, two orders merged.
- The history of every order, and the ticket printed again when a guest asks for it.
Tickets: for the guest and for the kitchen
Tickets print on a receipt printer, over the network, Bluetooth or USB, from our Android app ScanEat Pro. Each kitchen printer can take its own categories: drinks at the bar, dishes in the kitchen.
Ordering at the table
The guest scans their table's QR code, chooses in their own language and sends: the order arrives with the table's number. By default, it waits for a member of the team to accept it before it goes to the kitchen. The kitchen follows it on a screen in three columns, "New", "Preparing" and "Ready", and a chime announces each new order. The table can order again during the meal without waiting for a waiter.
Everyone on their own shift
Each waiter opens their shift under their own name and counts their cash at the close; on a shared device, everyone signs in with their own code. On your side, you see what was taken, shift by shift, and the day's sales.
Start small
Nothing forces you to open everything on day one: the digital menu first, then the till, then ordering at the table when your team is ready. For visitors from abroad, here is how to prepare a menu for tourists.
Depending on your plan, ScanEat includes the till, ordering at the table and the kitchen screen, on the same menu, and we are with you on WhatsApp. Create your menu.
