A menu for tourists: your menu in English, Spanish, French and Arabic

Your visitors read the menu in their own language by scanning the QR code on the table: what to write, how the translation is done, and what helps a tourist choose.

A guest who cannot read your menu orders what they already know, or points at a photo. With a digital menu, the visitor scans the QR code on the table and reads the menu in their own language: English, Spanish, French or Arabic. Here is how to prepare a menu that truly helps a tourist choose.

One menu, four languages

You write each dish once, in your own language. When you save it, it is translated into the languages you offer, and if you correct a translation, your version is kept. The same QR code works for everyone: the guest picks their language on the menu, with no other code or sheet.

What helps a tourist choose

  • A photo for each dish. A tagine, a pastilla or a harira is easier to understand in a picture than in a few words.
  • A description that says what is on the plate: the meat, the vegetables, the sweet and savoury of a pastilla, a spicy sauce. The name of a dish is not enough for someone who has never tasted it.
  • Allergens, dish by dish, where you declare them: a visitor with an allergy looks for this first.
  • Sizes and extras, with their prices, so that the bill holds no surprise.
  • Prices in dirhams, as you set them: the guest sees the price they will pay.

Before your first visitors

  • read again the translation of your most ordered dishes, and correct it if a word does not suit you;
  • check that every dish has its photo and its description;
  • put the QR code on each table, with a few words that tell visitors what to do;
  • keep a paper menu for the guest without a phone.

During Ramadan, the same menu is prepared differently: here is how to adapt your menu and hours.

With ScanEat, your menu reads in Arabic, French, English and Spanish, your zellij coasters carry each table's QR code, and we are with you on WhatsApp. Create your menu.
